From the rare breed of both journalist and publicist with nearly 20 years of experience, Joe began his professional journey covering high school sports for his hometown newspaper, Newsday, in 2003. He began to grow as a reporter and writer, and was promoted to the site’s Assistant News Manager position. Also moonlighting as the newspaper’s unofficial mixed martial arts reporter, while training Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Joe accepted a job with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in Las Vegas as a publicist. After three years of traveling across North America promoting events, Joe moved to Chicago to become the Executive Director of Public Relations for Viacom-owned Bellator Fighting Championships. Joe jumped back into the newsroom when he took the Online Sports Editor position for the Chicago Sun-Times, then to California to become the Night & Digital Editor for the Southern California News Group. Joe eventually moved back to Illinois and worked for a franchise PR agency before starting his own company. He currently lives in Illinois with his wife and their two daughters.
